EUAM Iraq, in cooperation with the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), INTERPOL, and the European Union, conducted a new round of CT TECH+ workshops in Baghdad to strengthen Iraq’s institutional capacity to address the misuse of new technologies for terrorist purposes.

The workshop brought together representatives from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), the Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS), and other Iraqi ministries and agencies engaged in counter-terrorism efforts.
Training sessions focused on emerging technology threats, including dark web activity, open-source intelligence, cybersecurity, and policy development related to online radicalisation and recruitment.Funded by the European Union, this two-year initiative supports Iraqi institutions in developing effective countermeasures and aligning national frameworks with international standards.
In its strategic advisory capacity, EUAM Iraq ensures that the training content reflects Iraq’s operational context and contributes to the implementation of the forthcoming National Counter-Terrorism Strategy (2026–2030).
Through this engagement, EUAM Iraq reaffirms its commitment to strengthening Iraq’s institutional resilience and fostering cooperation between Iraqi, regional, and international partners to counter the evolving threat of terrorism.
