EUAM Iraq had the honour to accompany the Secretary of the National Committee for Countering Terrorism, Mr. Sirmad Hikmat, to the annual Strategic Cooperation Forum in Istanbul under the auspices of the Counter-Terrorism Information Exchange and Criminal Justice Responses project (CT INFLOW). 

For two days, representatives from national counter-terrorism entities from the MENA region and Central Asia, EMISA, Afripol and Europol presented project achievements, challenges, and best practices to counter terrorism and prepared recommendations to enhance international cooperation. In a separate meeting Iraq's engagement and role in CT INFLOW was further discussed.

The CT INFLOW project aims to contribute to prevent and disrupt terrorist networks and the activities of recruiters to terrorism, cutting off terrorist funding, and bringing terrorists to justice, while continuing to respect human rights and international law. This international commitment must be seen in the broader context of the massive challenges posed by terrorism, which are beyond the capacity of national law enforcement and judicial authorities
