Fourth workshop with FIIA-MoI on National Organized Crime Strategy 2023-2027

EUAM Iraq attended on 26 July a key meeting with the Drafting Committee of the National Organized Crime Strategy 2023-2027, composed of senior experts from the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency (FIIA) and the Ministry of Interior (MoI). 

The first draft of the Strategy was presented on that occasion by the chairman of the committee, Jurist Brigadier General Ahmed Mahmoud Salman, director of the FIIA Planning and Follow up Department, before final approval of the document by MoI expected late 2022. 

The presentation also included the main objectives and 10 priorities of the Strategy, several of which related to the cooperation with the national institutions for implementation. Memorandums of understanding between these entities were confirmed to be on track, which is a direct outcome of previous EUAM Iraq supported workshops on Intelligence-Led Policing and Multi-Agency Collaboration. 

EUAM Iraq Senior Strategic Advisers on Organized Crime are expected to provide inputs and advice before the next meeting planned in mid-August.
